BUILDING YOUR VISION WITH CARE

What to Know Before Building a Fence or Deck

Fences and decks are more than outdoor additions — they improve privacy, functionality, comfort, and the overall value of your property. Understanding materials, maintenance, design options, and installation considerations helps homeowners choose the right outdoor solution for long-term performance and everyday living.

01

What is the best material for a residential deck?

The best deck material depends on your design preferences, maintenance expectations, and budget. Natural wood offers a warm and timeless appearance, while composite decking provides long-term durability with lower maintenance requirements. Many homeowners choose materials based on weather resistance, longevity, and how well the deck integrates with the overall style of the home.

02

How long does it take to install a new fence or deck?

The installation timeline varies depending on the size of the project, material selection, site conditions, and customization level. Most standard fence or deck projects can be completed within several days to a few weeks. Proper planning and professional installation help ensure a smoother construction process and long-lasting results.

03

Do fences and decks increase property value?

Yes, professionally built fences and decks can improve both the functionality and visual appeal of a property, which may contribute to increased home value. Outdoor living spaces are highly desirable for homeowners looking to enhance entertainment areas, privacy, and curb appeal. Well-designed outdoor improvements also create a stronger connection between indoor and outdoor living spaces.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are very happy with the work Evolve did on our house. We had them repair water-damaged siding and roof underlayment, install new shingles, and paint the exterior. Cesar was very helpful in keeping us informed and asking questions to make sure that we were getting the best results.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Evolve Design and Build did a fabulous job renovating my bathrooms. Cesar was easy to work with, and he accommodated my schedule happily. Workers showed attention to detail and routinely worked late to get the job done. I am so pleased with the end result, and would absolutely use this company again for other projects.
